Mission
In accordance with the healing mission of Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church, the Diocesan Health Facilities in Turkana County work towards promoting and providing quality preventive, curative, rehabilitative and sustainable health services for all and in accordance with accessible, affordable and acceptable standards as envisioned by the Ministry of Health for the people of Turkana, particularly the underprivileged.

Overall Goal
To help achieve the Government of Kenya’s broad objectives of universal health coverage: “Health for all by the year 2000 and beyond”, through community participation and involvement in the promotion of preventive, and curative health care.
Objectives
To bring sustainable and accessible health care services to the communities of Turkana and help upgrade the general health and nutritional status of the population (individual, family and community) through continued efforts and community participation.
The Diocese operates a Network of Health Facilities and outreach and mobile clinics serving various villages for example:
Examples of Health Programme Activities:
Maternal & Child Health (Immunization for children > 5 years and expectant mothers).
- School Health Programme (De-worming, treatment and referral of school pupils).
- HIV/AIDS, Prevention of Mother To Child Transmission (PMTCT), Provider Initiative Testing and Counseling (PITC), HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC), Voluntary Counseling & Testing (VCT), Home Based Care (HBC) services at all levels and provision of Anti Retro-Viral (ARV) and PTB drugs.
- Home visits to TB and HIV/AIDS and other patients in the community during outreach clinics
- Staff capacity building
- Surgical services at Kakuma Mission Hospital.
- Laboratory services now offered in ten health facilities and dispensaries
